Avocado Salsa Burgers (Medium-Hot)

We all love a traditional burger, I know we do but I wanted to have some fun and add a little twist to our burgers. Instead of our regular cheese and lettuce toppings. Avocado Salsa! I mean, why not? I love avocados, I can eat them with just about anything so I decided to take my love for them to another level. I know these seem a bit out of the ordinary but my honey approves, and if he approves then I think its worthy of a recipe post. Let us know what you think!

Servings: 3-4
Prep Time: 10 mins
Total Time: 20 mins.

1 lb, ground beef

1/2 a red onion, finely chopped

2 tsp. Chili Powder

1 tsp. ground cumin

1 tbsp. tomato puree

1/2 tbsp. finely chopped cilantro

1 tbsp. sazon ranchero

2 tsp. Adobo

4 Leafs of lettuce

For the salsa:

1 Avocado, diced

1 tbsp. lime juice

1 small tomato, chopped

4 oz kernel corn

Step 1:

Rinse and pat dry ground beef

Step 2:

With your hands mix together the ground beef, onion, chili powder, cumin, adobo, sofrito, tomato puree and cilantro. Divide into 3-4 portions and shape into burgers.

Step 3:

Cook on a lightly oiled grill or non stick pan for about 5 minutes on each side or until desired temperature.

For the salsa:

Toss the avocado with lime juice, add the tomato and corn and toss lightly. Add the burgers and lettuce to your bun and serve with the salsa. Enjoy!
